Object Untitled

Solo Exhibition as part of the "Thoughts on War" project at Concept Space gallery in Shibukawa city, Japan.
August 2025

"Object Untitled" is a series of artifacts from the war in Ukraine, collected by me at the car cemetery in Irpin city.

The deliberate choice of "Object Untitled" for this project is rich with meaning. The term "Untitled" is often rooted in artistic intention, allowing viewers to engage with the work free from preconceived interpretations.

In this case, the piece presented at the exhibition stands as an artifact of war, a striking example of a war-readymade. This object was discovered among the remains of charred vehicles, targets of Russian troops in the cities of Bucha and Irpin in 2022. It is a fragments of an engine, deformed and melted by the intense heat following the strikes.

Stripped of its original function and context, this abstract form transcends its identity as a mere car part. It has been reborn as an evocative object without a name—Untitled. This transformation invites viewers to reflect on the devastating impact of conflict and the power of art to capture and memorialize such moments.
